Hairspring Problems?
It is not uncommon to encounter watches that previous repair attempts and been abandoned due to hairsprings having been "adjusted" or handled badly especially in pocket watches that are most prone to tampering 75% of these need some hairspring correction. Abellwatchmakers has undertaken months of training on art of hairspring rectification. When necessary a new hairspring can be vibrated. most problems can be rectified but not all!
There are no magic tools that I know of for straightening hairsprings,
just a few of pairs of tweezers and a great deal of patience.

Had a watch arrive with a severely damaged hairspring,
I explained that there was little chance of fixing this spring and no doubt would break in doing so,
I asked if just for my own practice and see if I can I still do it? make an attempt at repair.

Did I mention it was small?
This was the last photo I took I corrected it a little more after this got those center round back ,
tested it in the watch to find even more problems so abandoned it at this point will look for a
parts watch but good exercise in hairspring work.
Tools needed; two pairs of fine tweezers, practice and patience
