Chris Abell, Originally from England now a US citizen, began his career as an electronics engineer. A gift of a pocket watch turned Abell's interest to the inner workings of time pieces.
He began a thriving watch trade and completed specialized formal training in watchmaking.
A member of Phi Theta Kappa, Abell maintained a perfect grade point average throughout his studies.
Abell specializes in Wrist and pocket watches and has experience with a variety of models, from simple but treasured family heirlooms to those fine time pieces with complications and serviced many modern high grade Swiss watches (rolex patek,Omega etc).
"One of my greatest pleasures is in cleaning and servicing fine wristwatches," Abell says. "The more complicated the watch, the more I enjoy working on it."
Once your time piece arrives at Abell Watchmakers (see shipping instructions), your watch is registered into the AW system. You will receive an email confirming your watch's arrival, along with a preliminary diagnosis of issues and service needed. Later on, we will contact you to discuss findings of more in-depth investigation of your time piece (if required). We aim to service your watch in a timely manner
Note choose your watchmaker carefully, cheap and inexperienced work can often be irreversible or expensive to restore before correcting the original problems; some delays may occur due scarcity of parts, complexity of the repair, etc. Should that be the case, we will update you regularly on progress.
Finally, once your watch is ready to be returned, we will carefully wrap and prepare it for safe shipping.
It is the desire of Abell Watchmakers to treat your treasure with the utmost respect a fine timepiece deserves, and to work with you in a most professional manner.
